Pauline Prior-Pitt
Pauline Prior-Pitt
Pauline lives on the island of North Uist in the Outer Hebrides, where she organises monthly poetry evenings and runs writing workshops. She is a registered poet with the Scottish Book Trust and gives readings in Literature Festivals and poetry events all over the country. She has published seven poetry collections and four pamphlets. North Uist Sea Poems won the 2006 Callum Macdonald Award.

She grew up in Yorkshire, but spent her working life in Warwickshire where she was an In Service Teacher Adviser in Special Needs and Dyslexia for Coventry and a visiting lecturer at the University of Warwick. She was a verse speaker from a very early age but didn’t begin writing poetry until she was in her late thirties, writing in secret for seven years.
